We've had a great start to our season, but it's only a start. This team has high hopes and goals and this week's game could go a long way in helping us achieve those goals. Red Bay is a talented and tough opponent who has also started their season well. We've had a good week of preparation and practice, and our guys realize that we have to be ready for a physical battle on each play, limit our mistakes, and maintain our focus for four quarters to be successful this Friday night. I would like to start with showing my appreciation to everyone who helped throughout the summer by selling ads an stadium signs to the parent support during the preseason football camp at tombigbee state park to Friday night leading up to the 7:00 pm kickoff vs south Lamar. There are so many things that have to be done just to host a high school football game an with the support that we have at Vernon Friday night was already a success before we kicked off. During the summer our team worked to make sure the community of Vernon was given the opportunity to support your school an most businesses do so unselfishly in one form or another either thru donations to the program, buying ad space in the 2011 football program, purchasing stadium signs, or website space an without your support we would not be able to fund our football team at Vernon accordingly.
